I used to treat stillness like wasted time.
If I wasn’t moving, producing, or crossing something off my list, I felt stuck. Behind. Falling off pace.
But I learned the hard way that stillness isn’t the enemy of growth.
Noise is.
Stillness is not stagnation.
Stillness is space, and space is where God speaks.
Psalm 46:10 doesn’t leave room for interpretation:
“Be still, and know that I am God.”
Not be busy.
Not be productive.
Not be stimulated.
Be still.

1) Stillness is an act of trust
Stillness isn’t passive. It’s confrontational.
It forces you to release control.
It exposes how dependent you’ve become on motion, stimulation, and distraction.
Stillness says,
“God, I don’t need to manage everything… because You already do.”
That’s not weakness.
That’s surrender, and surrender is strength.
2) Noise dulls discernment
I’ve been fasting at the beginning of each month, and the effect has been undeniable:
My spirit feels sharper.
Old habits are losing their grip.
New ones are forming more easily.
This is what Scripture means when it talks about breaking strongholds.
Strongholds aren’t only sins.
They’re patterns.
Dependencies.
Loops of stimulation that keep your mind reactive instead of rooted.
Fasting... from food, from caffeine, from noise... exposes them.
It reveals what actually drives you, then gives God room to reshape it.
3) Your body knows when you’ve gone too far
From a nutrition and nervous‑system standpoint, I realized something uncomfortable:
I rushed my body back too quickly after a season of discipline.
Six cups of coffee a day.
Constant online input.
Endless stimulation.
So I made a decision after 13 years: I stopped drinking coffee.
Not because coffee is evil because dependence is.
I’m switching to teas.
Reducing stimulants.
Reducing screen time.
Because formation isn’t just spiritual.
It’s physiological.
A regulated body supports a disciplined mind.
4) Stillness creates space for new habits
This is why journaling matters.
It slows you just enough to notice what’s actually happening inside you.
It creates friction between impulse and action.
It gives God room to rewire patterns you didn’t even realize were there.
That’s also why the Reset includes stillness... not just movement.
Your soul doesn’t only need exercise.
It needs quiet.
If you’re afraid of slowing down…
Hear this clearly:
Being still doesn’t mean you’re stuck.
It means you’re strong enough to trust God’s timing.
In a world addicted to noise, stillness is rebellion.
And in the Kingdom, it’s formation.

Day One is stillness, and the rest follows
“Be still” isn’t just a verse.
It’s Day One of the REST Programs.
It’s the first page of the Anchored Daily Journal.
Not because stillness is easy,
but because without it, nothing else holds.
Stillness is where awareness returns.
Where noise loses its grip.
Where strongholds begin to loosen.
Where God finally has room to speak.
That’s why the Journal doesn’t start with productivity.
It starts with presence.
Each day is designed to slow you down just enough to:
Interrupt old patterns
Reduce mental and digital stimulation
Create space for reflection, prayer, and clarity
Help you form new habits that last
Not through pressure.
Not through hype.
But through rhythm.
If you’ve been busy but internally scattered…
If your mind feels overstimulated and your spirit feels dull…
If you know you need less noise and more grounding…
This is exactly what the Journal was built for.
It’s not about doing more.
It’s about returning daily to what actually restores you.
If you haven’t gotten the Journal yet, consider starting there.
Day One is waiting.
And it begins with stillness.
Below is the exact Journal you can start with today:

Why this is the right place to start:
It pairs directly with the REST Programs, so you don’t have to guess what to do with stillness.
It gives a clear, Scripture‑rooted rhythm for each morning... stillness, Scripture, reflection, movement, gratitude, weekly review, and grace.
Built to keep you consistent for a full 30 days, not just a few impressive moments.
If you’re ready to trade noise for clarity and movement for meaning, start here.
Day One is stillness, and it changes everything.

Together, we rebuild the systems, habits, and mindset required to become stronger physically, mentally, and spiritually.
